ROCOCO GRAPHIC DESIGN INFORMATIONAL PAMPHLET

This book uses my research on the Rococo period to show the elegance of this time period.

As the Rococo period of art emerged in France during the 18th century the French royalty and the elite embraced artwork that celebrated love, leisure, and fashion in a way that was light, sumptuous, and even erotica. Rococo paintings decorated rooms in ornate homes and there was an establishment of many typographic precedents that fundamentally shaped design.

As the pamphlet folds out it creates a capital H shape.

Velum Overlay

To display the manifesto, I chose to print Walter Gropius' black-and-white woodcut that was the cover design for the Bauhaus manifesto. His work is printed on velum paper, and attached at the top, so as you lift it the manifesto is underneath.

With the velum paper lifted, you can read the Bauhaus manifesto and see the portraits of Walter Gropus, Oskar Schiemmer, Lazlo Maholy-Nagy, and Johannes Itten.

THE BAUHAUS MANIFESTO

This folded pamphlet displays the Bauhaus manifesto, in an homage to the style of Bauhaus.

With the use of color, typography, and photos of artists' pieces I created a information pamphlet of all things Bauhaus.
